SeaPort Next Generation contract (Seaport NxG) 01/02/2019 thru 12/31/2029
SeaPort NxG has been awarded to MES by the Navy. This vehicle is a multiple award contract (MAC) for professional services. The previous SeaPort-e MAC was in place since 2001 and included about $5 billion in task orders annually. SeaPort-NxG contains a five-year base period of performance and a five-year ordering period option. The Navy began to use the MAC to award task orders at the beginning of fiscal year 2019.
There are numerous changes from Seaport-e and NxG, including no zone restrictions on bidding, broad functional areas (divided into engineering support services and program management support services), high emphasis on past performance, increased efficiency in ordering, direct ordering authority for set-asides (VOSB, WOSB, HUBZone and general small business), and more flexibility regarding contract types. Overall, it’s a MAC designed to be more competitive and reduce procurement costs for the Navy and Marine Corps.
